The Chapman & Chapman Invitational Open 2010.
TOMORROW. KENWICK PARK
12:30PM
On the 10th August 1984, James and Christopher Chapman were born into this world in a busy ward of Lincoln County Hospital. Identical twins fathered by Richard and mothered by Anita, the world was blessed with their arrival, but little did anyone know of the impact they would have on the golfing world.
On an annual basis, James and Cris host an invitational tournament to honour their birthday. The tournament is into it's 4th year now and is growing from strength to strength. Starting in 2005 at Rufford Golf Course with a mere 8 players, the 4th year, to be held at Kenwick Park, is expected to draw between 15 and 20 players all battling to win the much coveted 'Chapmantpellier Trophy.'
From a small social based event, the C&C Invitational Open has become one of the most eagrely anticipated tournaments on the years golfing schedule and is threatening to become the 5th Major to the PGA calender. Huge household names including Tiger Woods, Camillo Villegas, Phil Mickelson, Anthony Kim, Colin Montgomerie, Justin Rose and Ian Poulter have all had applications rejected to play in the tournament as they could not meet the strict criteria needed in order to pass the stringent vetting process applied by the Chapman brothers.
Despite so many high profile rejections, the rules are actually very simple, the tournament is OPEN to anyone, but their application must be approved by the brothers before an invite can be made formal. The two fundamental components any wannabe player must bring to the table before they will get the seal of approval?....
1) Your golfing ability MUST be of a level that will entertain the rest of us.
2) Camp attire is ABSOLUTELY ESSENTIAL.
The bottom line......If you're not prepared to make a fool out of yourself, you're not coming in!
